My First Black Friend (I'm not a racist!!! hahah!!!) *updated*

A couple of months ago... i browsed through our old photo albums and i stumbled upon this photo...

This picture was taken 11 years ago during our trip to Disney World. Ye that's me wearing the blue cap! On our way to MGM Studios, some kid sat beside me in the shuttle and started talking to me... ye he was nice and funny... he also wanted to get my toy... hahah laftrip!! so ye thats the story of my first black friend... actually maybe my first and only black friend! hehehe!!

After awhile of looking at the photo... i started thinking... what could've happened to him??? i guess i will never know... but he does kinda look like Chris Brown... so maybe i was ONCE a friend of Chris Brown!! WUHHOOOO KEWL!!!

Hmmm??? Whatcha guys think?!?!

So to brighten up your day and to bring a little christmas magic for you... watch this video of Chris Brown (my friend! haha!) singing This Christmas! Merry Christmas! :D

Ohyeah! i am only getting closer to my goal... i'd like to believe also that... i get better every term... so i can't wait! This term has been very stressful in more ways than one... but of course, with the support of my friends... they made the stress all worth it!

So now that 2nd ter mis finally over... time to party! wee! ok i dont really party.. but that was fun to say. hahah! i dont know what's up with growing up because it only makes the special events, and holidays less exciting. for some reason... the tingling sensation i usually feel during christmas back when i was young-er.... isn;t here anymore... but i realized something... i guess.. as long as you know that the christmas spirit is within you... then that weird crazy good feeling still remains in you. WOW! im really excited for this vacation... *this christmas is gonna be a very special christmas!* wahahah!

i should stop blogging now because i really dont know what the hell i'm saying anymore... paulit ulit na... but yeah... thanks to all my friends who helped me throughout the whole term! next term ulit! haha! :) again.. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!:D

FOOD! YUM!:D

Like i said in the my _____et? entry... we all need to sleep in order to live... other than sleeping... we all have to eat as well. I just can't imagine life without the tasty, mouth watering substance that we ingest in our mouths called food. Lately, i have been extra fascinated with food.. i don't know why... but yeah... i have been watching lots of cooking shows in Discovery Travel and Adventure and BBC Food. When i can't find any other good shows on TV... these channels certainly never disappoint. They do suck most of the time though because... US... the viewers... are only limited to seeing these succulent and supposedly delicious masterpieces... i guess the flavors from these recipes made by great chefs like Jamie Oliver(MY FAVORITE!), BOBBY Chin, and Anthony Bourdain will remain a mystery to us forever... hahaha... I guess food and cooking is really a big part of my life... not that i cook... but yeah i like to watch people cook. I guess a part of me wants to be a chef. after watching these shows, watching Ratatouille, and reading this book by Anthony Bourdain... i suppose the life of a chef is quite exciting! hmmm?? nahhh! hahah! like i said... i like to eat... but i don't know about cooking... My plan is to get really rich so i'll be able to visit the most prestigious restaurants around the world and feed myself the best food which i have been seeing in the television all my life... hahaha! anyone who wants to join me?!? weee!! FOOD!! other than my aspirations of being a chef or the best food eater ever... hahaha... i stumbled upon this crazy book weeks ago... A couple of weeks ago, i was with my friends in National Bookstore... we were checking out cookbooks in the food section and guess what i saw... THE ADOBO BOOK!! WHATTHE?! Come on... as if adobo is not boring enough... hahaha! DUDE?! adobo should be cooked only one way... hahaha! sorry... i like it but... cmon... it's only good at home. haha. The Adobo Book contains the different variations of cooking adobo... from the classic pork adobo to frog adobo?? i don't really remember... but you get the point.. hahah! I mean... how sabaw can you get if you start making other recipes about adobo... adobo is fine the way it is... what's next?? corned beef book?? haaha boo... sorry bad joke. ahaha! But yeah i commend the writer of that book for having the guts of tweaking and recreating one of the most beloved filipino recipes ever. who knows... i might just buy it!;) haha! afterall, it's still food... FOOD IS FOOD! as long as it tastes good... i'm fine with that... nothing is better than greeting your mouth with juicy and tasty food at the end of a hard days work... ohyeah! I guess eating food is tastiest side of life...;)

~anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great!
-From Ratatouille

my motto is... anyone can eat, but only the fearless can be great! hahaha!

From DVDs to Blu-ray! :O (Tribute to Kuya Al)

I started collecting DVDs (Region 1) back in 2002 with E.T. (Ultimate Gift Boxed Set) as my very first DVD. From that moment on, i got addicted to buying DVDs. My supplier, Kuya Al (R.I.P), would always txt on me new deliveries and would update me on great new releases. I would save all my money just to order DVDs. I would get at least 1 or 2 DVDs per month. My collection just kept on growing, until that tragic day back in October 2004 when i heard that My supplier but more importantly, my good friend died.:( Truly a sad moment. I didn't touch any of the DVDs i ordered from him for at least 6 months, and until now i haven't watched the last DVD i bought from him (Star Wars Trilogy). boohoo. Maybe next week i'll touch it, but i was never a Star Wars Fan so i guess that's okay for display purposes. haha. Of course, Kuya Al's death didn't stop me from continuing my collection. After what happened, I was determined to find a new DVD source but unfortunately, non of my new sources were really good plus PRICES WERE REALLY HIGH. Now, i rely on friends and relatives who go abroad for my DVDs. Currently, i have more or less 150 DVD titles! TITLES NOT DISCS! wahaha! I lovelove my DVD collection. Buying DVDs for me is my way of releaseing stress, so just imagine how much i've spent on DVDs during this term! haha! veryveyr stressful term! hahaha! Well, now i can absolutely say that my DVD collection is EVOLVING! Now i have moved on from DVDs to Blu-ray Discs!!! DAMN!! Now, i have Spider-Man 3 and Ratatouille and lemme tell you... WOWOWOWOW!!! Crazy 1080p High Definition Picture and unparalleled Dolby TRUE HD sound! FUCKIN INTENSE!! not to mention the intense ultra special features and the advance scene selection feature where not only do you get to skip to great moments in the film, but you can also bookmark your favorite scenes as well. Well, maybe i won't be able to buy as much Blu-ray discs but having them around is truly great. perhaps, i'm the only guy who can tell this much about DVDs. This whole experience with my DVD collection definitely had its ups and downs and I'm glad I'm still here collecting DVDs, and Blu-ray(ahhaha!) because it truly made me a better and stronger person.

Maybe none of you will get that ending or how it made me a stronger person but yeah.... ask me nalang :P

_____et?

If there is something that we all have in common, that is probably sleeping. We all sleep! No matter how old or young you are, it is always a necessity to live... and therefore, we must all sleep. haha. Obviously, with school right now, it has been quite hard to get a good sleep. Sleeping late and waking up at 7am really sucks. So whenever i get the chance to peacefully embrace the pillows and bask among the 100% cotton cushion that my bed has to offer, i truly cherish every moment of it. But of course, a bed with pillows will not be complete without the magical body warmer we call, the blanket. I am the type of person that can't sleep without a blanket, so having it wrapped around me is always a fundamental part of my sleep. Sleeping without a blanket is just simply lying down in bed and cannot be considered sleeping at all. Perhaps, there is something about a blanket that makes sleeping very mysterious and relaxing. But one day, when i was about it put my blanket on, this thought suddenly hit me, why is the blanket called a BLANKet? Obviously, a blanket is something that covers you up during your sleep, but with a name like that, i think it's quite confusing. hmmm... isn't the root word of BLANKet, BLANK??? hahaha. maybe not, but the word BLANK is there for a reason. If i visually envision the word balnket when i see my blanket, all I see is 5 blanks and the letters e and t (_____et). Quite puzzling but for me it makes a lot of sense. haha. With this thought in mind, sleeping with it just felt really cold and empty. :( I guess i will never look at my blanket the same way ever again. So, just to avoid confusion from the word BLANK and to bring back the glorious feeling of sleeping with a blanket, i just simply changed the name of my blanket from BLANKet to bedburritto. Don't ask, but yeah... it's called bedburritto. Afterall, no matter what it's called, that thing that covers you up in your sleep is something that gives life a little bit of warmth and relaxation in this mystical world filled with coldness and apathy. :)

Cold Feet?

All my life, i have been fascinated with shoes. I don't know why but i guess there's something about good shoes that makes me feel better. So from time to time, i try to purchase at least a pair of shoes to satisfy my feet! hahha~!! Obviously i wear the shoe that best fits my mood during the day. But one day, after checking the cabinet for what shoe to wear, i suddenly stumbed upon this idea, WHY WEAR SHOES? How would life be if there were no shoes? For some reason, i think that the veins in our feet are directly connected to the our brains because having cold feet gives us a tingling sensation that sends a freezing feeling inside our bodies. I guess that's why some people prefer to wear socks in their sleep or some people don't sweat when their feet are ice cold. hmmmm?? i really don't know but that could be a possibility. iF you were given the chance, what would you choose? I mean, imaging a world with no shoes, imagine a world full of barefooted people... So disgusting, yet so natural. :D

the cross

1st term of my 2nd year in Taft was my first term as a College of Business and Economics student. I am currently a Marketing major student. I used to take up AB-Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts. Though i truly enjoy studying Psychology, i just didn't think that i fit in that course so i decided to shift to Marketing along with my friend Jordan. My first term as a Marketing student was really challenging and FUN! FUN!:D I had fun subjects like ACTBAS1, ENGLRES, BUSORGA, and TREDTWO, I met tons of new friends, and it was also the first time I felt that I squeezed all the brain juices in me. WOW! The first time i felt like vomiting after an exam! haha! This photo was taken somewhere in Laguna? for a field trip in class. The trip was called AdvocaTREE, we were required to plant at least 5 trees to help save the environment or something. That trip was really exhausting but it was also one of the best experiences ever. Not only did I get to help the environment, but i also met some new friends along the way. In order to get to the planting site, we had to pass through a bunch of rocks under a stream. It was very slippery so we all held hands in order to pass through safely. After crossing that, i suddenly realized that, this cross towards the other side is something that i can relate very much to my experience shifting from one college to another. My shift to Marketing was definitely a rocky and very slippery road. I had to take the ITEO exam, the marketing qualifying exam, and I had to go through an interview with the marketing department. That experience was definitely scary and risky, but with overflowing determination, a bit of luck, and with Jordan along for the ride, it was a slippery cross I'm glad I decided to take.

HARD drive???

A couple of weeks ago, i was blessed with the gift of an external hard drive. ohYeah! Not internal Hard Drive but EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE! 250 gigabytes of free space, how good is that? Now i can freely save and save and save any files with no worries of space. This gadget is very very special to me that i decided to name it Chazz. My inspiration for the name is Will Ferrell's character, Chazz Michael Michaels from the Movie Blades of Glory.
Obviously, i was going crazy with my downloads. Then after a couple of weeks, my INTERNAL HARD DRIVE CRASHED!!! Woah! Thankfully, I've transferred most of my important files to Chazz already. But then it occurred to me, probably Chazz is somehow also a blessing in disguise for me because if not for him, then all my important files would have been gone forever.
I just don't get the reason why computers crash, or why hard drives crash?? In a blink of an eye, files, and more importantly, a part of life can just vanish into thin air and be nothing but a vivid memory left in us.
So despite having saved my important files, this thought stumbled upon my mind... A hard drive may be called THE HARD DRIVE of the computer, but perhaps the HARD DRIVE is the softest component of the computer afterall... :P

Sunset. :)

I took this photo from the attic of our house. From time to time, when i feel depressed or sad, i just simply go up there and check out this wonderful view of the sunset. In life, we go through so much challenges and darkness, but in everything that i do, i try to see the bright side of life. This sight just simply brings me back to the lighter side of life. Seeing this sight gives me the thrilling experience of floating among the foggy clouds and slightly feeling the sheer heat of the sun with the cooling breeze of the wind. The sensations around it are complete opposites yet they compliment each other like a delicious platter of spaghetti and meatballs. It is simply an experience worth treasuring and experiencing. Though i don't get the opportunity to gaze upon this extraordinary site everyday, I simply adore and cherish every moment that i do get to see it, for this isn't only a wonderful work of nature, but it is also stunning embodiment of art.
